A woman attempted to pull off a robbery with a homemade spear.

She got away with it but not for long.

It happened Wednesday night, in the 7000 block of Sunnylane Road, at a Subway inside a convenience store.

"It was a knife attached to a stick,” said employee Dominique Triplet.

The woman barged into the store and started banging it on the counter.

"She was saying, ‘Open the register, open the register. Hurry, hurry. Open the register.’ So, he opens the register,” she said.

Police said the woman with the weapon was Allison Rogers, who made her way around the counter and grabbed cash from the register.

"She comes and gets the money and goes off,” said Triplet.

However, as she was making her getaway someone in the parking lot followed her, watched her get into a car, got the car's tag number, and called police.

Officers used that tag number to track down an address, and then took Rogers into custody.

"It's certainly unusual to have someone walk into a store with a large stick with a butcher knife taped to the end of it to pull a robbery,” said Oklahoma City MSgt. Gary Knight.

Rogers was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
