BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

A Broken Arrow man is taking his fantasy sports seriously. He said it started off as a hobby, but is quickly becoming a living.

Keith Hall is happily married, has a baby coming in the spring, and Wednesday, we interrupted him in the middle of his work day - researching his fantasy plays.

“I do NBA during the week and NFL on the weekends," Hall explained.

He researches for hours before he selects his players for a particular night and puts them all in a book.

“Stats that I've accumulated, matchups, Vegas lines, plays that I've gone through," he said.

Basically, any scrap of information that can help him be smarter when assembling a team of players for one night.

For example, NBA players all have a fantasy value and your team has a fantasy salary cap, in this case, of $50,000. So, Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook on your team will cost you more than half your salary allotment, and you need more players.

Hall said, "That's when doing the research comes in, to be able to find the value."

He scours dozens of websites and watches sports talk shows, looking for something he may have overlooked.

Is it working? Hall said it is, "When you bring home a check for $40,000," and he's made almost twice that for the calendar year.

"Paid for the down payment on the house," he said.

It’s also paid for the car in the garage, and it's allowed him to think he might be a stay at home dad when the baby comes.

He said it’s not gambling, it’s working.

"I'm also in two season-long fantasy teams as well with some buddies and friends," Hall said.

Of course, the downside is some of the fantasy sites have become controversial and have also been sued over the way they operate.
