The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two Skiatook teens are in critical condition after a motorcycle wreck on State Highway 20.

A collision report released on Thursday says Wesley Grant Breedlove, 18, was driving too fast 1 mile west of Skiatook about 2 p.m. on Wednesday when he approached a hill crest on a curve.

The 2008 Buell departed the roadway to the left, slid on its side and collided with a drainage gate before hitting a guy wire, the report says.

Breedlove was taken by ambulance to a Tulsa hospital. He was admitted with leg and trunk internal injuries, according to OHP.

His 17-year-old passenger was transported by medical helicopter to Tulsa and admitted in critical condition with head injuries, the report says.

Friends tell us the passenger was Trenton Higgins, but the OHP report doesn’t list his name since he is a minor. Doctors have said that paralysis is a possibility for Breedlove because he has a spinal injury, friends say. Higgins is said to have additional breaks to his shoulder, ribs, clavicle, back and punctured lungs.

The investigating trooper wrote that the cause of the crash was Breedlove driving at an unsafe speed, and his condition at the time of the crash is listed as apparently normal.

Both teens were wearing helmets, the report says.
