TULSA, Oklahoma -

Police say two burglars stole several items from a west Tulsa apartment early Friday but the victim slept through it.

Officers were patrolling the Westport On The River Apartments in the 1700 block of South Jackson because of several reports of burglaries in the area. At about 4:30 a.m. they spotted two men attempting to open a car door. The men ran off when they saw police.

The officers checked the complex and found a sliding glass door open in one unit. Police said the burglars entered the man's apartment, stole some property then left without waking him.

Officers said the two men were using the victim's keys to try to find his car when they were spotted by police.

Police searched the complex but could not find the burglars.
