Oklahoma (9-1) is back in the playoff picture after hitting the road and winning 44-34 over No. 6 Baylor (8-1). Here’s the instant analysis of what went down.

How the Sooners won

No matter what the Bears threw at the Sooners, Bob Stoops’ team had a response, and that was truly the difference in this game. The Baylor offense is one of the best in the nation and was able to put up 34 points, but every time the Bears scored, the Sooners seemed unfazed.

Lincoln Riley had his offense ready, and the Sooners were able to score four of its six touchdowns on drives that followed Baylor touchdowns. Those type of responses do everything for the momentum of the game, and OU was in control for most of four quarters.

What they could’ve done better

The amount of OU personal fouls was out of control. The Sooners totaled four of those penalties on the day, and defensive lineman Matt Dimon was ejected in the second quarter after picking up a personal foul.

Rarely can you go on the road against the No. 6 team and come away with a win after committing so many mental mistakes.

What’s next?

November brings a tough schedule for the Sooners, and next up is TCU (9-1) inside of Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium. The Horned Frogs only beat winless Kansas by six points today and quarterback Trevone Boykin suffered a right ankle injury in the win. Star wide receiver Josh Doctson is also nursing a wrist injury, but was able to play against KU.
