The Great American Conference announced Wednesday that they league has entered into an agreement with ESPN to carry the Live United Texarkana Bowl on its streaming service, ESPN3, and via the WatchESPN app.

“We’ve talked about how big of an opportunity this is to play in a postseason game for the past couple weeks, but this makes it even more exciting when you know the game is going to be on the ESPN networks,” SWOSU Head Coach Dan Cocannouer said. “What a big opportunity for our players and for our team and how great is this going to be for us in recruiting. It’s a big plus for us all the way around!”

The SWOSU Football team plays their first NCAA postseason game on Saturday, December 5th, against Central Oklahoma in the Live United Texarkana Bowl, which is now in its third year of play. The Bowl Game has a tie-in with the Great American Conference, allowing the top team from the GAC that did not make the playoffs to appear in the game.

“Having a GAC presence on WatchESPN is another growth step for our league,” GAC Commissioner Will Prewitt said. “We feel like our existing championship streaming package via the GAC Sports Network already ranks among the best in Division II. Partnering with a worldwide brand like ESPN pushes the ability to publicize our institutions and student-athletes to a higher level.”

JBM Productions will serve as the production crew for the selected broadcasts, which will also include the semifinals and finals of the 2016 GAC Basketball Championships in Bartlesville, Okla., next March. JBM Productions has provided coverage for all GAC events – streamed on the GAC Sports Network – since the league’s inception in 2011. The GAC Sports Network dynamic duo of Michael Westbrook and Joey McWilliams will handle the broadcast duties for the Live United Texarkana Bowl.

“We are excited to partner with ESPN3 and WatchESPN to help grow the exposure of the Great American Conference,” JBM Productions Owner Jason Moyer said. “ESPN has established itself as a leader for online streaming and we can’t wait to deliver the best of the GAC to a national audience.”

Kickoff of the 2015 Live United Texarkana Bowl will be at noon on Saturday, December 5th from Razorback Stadium in Texarkana, Arkansas. The game will be the first postseason game for SWOSU Football since 1996 as the Bulldogs face their oldest rival, Central Oklahoma.
