The Monte Cassino School community will celebrate 90 years in Tulsa on Sunday with a special ceremony and a special guest.

The school will hold a tree-lighting ceremony on December 6, 2015 at 6 p.m.

Sr. Mary Clare Buthod and Jeanne Sullivan from Class of 1963 are honorary chairs of the 90th Year Committee. For the tree lighting, they'll join student council vice president and 7th grader, Caleb McCullough, and a very special guest. That guest is Wavel Ashbaugh, a member of Monte Cassino’s first graduating class.

The school says for the first time in its history, the area around St. Joseph Monastery will be shining with thousands of lights while guests enjoy hot chocolate and cookies while listening to Christmas music performed by students, faculty and alumni.

Located near 22nd and South Lewis, Monte Cassino School was founded in the Benedictine tradition in 1926. It serves students from three years old through 8th grade.
