Stephens County prosecutors say a Duncan woman tried to hire a woman to kill her mother and stepfather -- and asked her mother to mail the letter soliciting the slayings.

Twenty-nine-year-old Raquel Marie Sanchez is jailed on $1 million bond. No attorney is listed for her.

Court documents say Sanchez sent the letter to a Stephens County inmate who Sanchez had previously shared a jail cell with and offered the woman $500 to kill her parents.

The documents say Sanchez wrote that her parents don't respect her, that she needed peace and that someone must die for others to live.

The mother -- Maria Taylor -- told The Duncan Banner that her daughter suffers unspecified disorders and that she hears voices telling her to hurt her mother.
