Tulsa students are getting a lesson in mechanics while also providing gifts for other students this holiday.

The Manufacturing and Automotive classes at Union refurbished old bicycles as a class project. They put together more than 40 bikes that they are giving to other students from families in need.

Student Ciera Vincent said, "I hope they feel joy when they get a bike. Knowing that we put the work in for it, it feels great. The other group that made the bikes, put them together - it just feels great."

Teachers and counselors identified students who could use the bikes.

They said they hope to expand the program and are collecting bikes for next year.

If you’d like to donate or help, you can call the Union Career Connect Office at 918-357-6305.
