Bethany Man Arrested For Soliciting Sex From Officer Posing As 14-Year-Old Girl

A Bethany man is behind bars, accused of soliciting sex with a minor online. That “minor” turned out to be an undercover officer working with the Canadian County Sheriff’s office (CCSO).

Josh Parsons, 25, was arrested on Monday after falling for a sting operation setup by the CCSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

According to a report, Parsons sent a Facebook message to the “14-year-old girl’s” profile complimenting her photos, saying “I just checked out your photos, and you’re gorgeous.” Investigators say from there the dialogue escalated quickly, to talk about extremely sexual situations. Parsons even sent a photograph of genitals, according to the report.

The conversation, which began just before noon on Monday, shifted to a scheduled rendezvous at a Yukon apartment complex that the “girl” said she lived with her mother. That is where undercover officers sprung their trap.

“I’m just glad we were able to take this man off the streets, and hope he hasn’t already victimized a child,” said Randal Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.

Parsons was arrested shortly after arriving at the apartment. Once in custody, deputies say he offered a full confession.

He was booked into the Canadian County Jail on one count of Soliciting Sex with a Minor through Use of Technology. His bond was set at $50,000. He remained in custody at the time this story was published.
