The Oklahoma State Cowboys aren't the only Oklahomans getting ready for the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

It’s also a special opportunity for 62 members of the Oologah Stallion Battalion marching band. They'll be part of a mass halftime performance at the Sugar Bowl on Friday night.

Wednesday, they performed their field show as part of a competition at a local high school. The seniors said it was emotional to get to do the show they've worked so hard on one final time.

There will be more than a dozen bands on the field playing together Friday, which will be a unique experience for the Stallion Battalion.

Band Director, Jon Matthews said, "60,000 fans, it will be a mass band of all the bands that are here - thousands of kids on the field. We're a relatively small school, so it's going to be nice. I've got three tuba players, there's going to be like 30 tuba players on the field. It's going to be great. It's going to be a lifetime memory for those kids."

"All these people who have the same interests, goals in life. It's going to be a lot of fun to meet all the new people and share all the little secrets of band," said Oologah senior Jordan Tulsa.

The band has performed at the Liberty, Alamo, and Holiday Bowls in years past, building its resume to be invited to New Orleans this year.
