A missing man was discovered inside a car on Wednesday, thanks to the efforts of several volunteers.

On Monday, 69-year-old Coy Looper was last seen alive in a car on the curb at the Tulsa International Airport.

He was asked to move it, so he drove off.

He had dementia and apparently got lost. He wasn't found until two days later, just a short drive away.

Bryan and Gerald Guevara didn't just happen to be where they found a car with his body. They were looking for it - up and down the creek, but they couldn't see the car until the water dropped.

The body of Looper was inside.

"What brings us peace is giving the families some type of closure,” Bryan Guevara said.

They're part of a group called "Bridging the Gap," which searches for missing people.

It's the group that came out of the search for Ben and Cody - the young men missing from Rocklahoma - later found dead by volunteer searchers.

The Guevara brothers went back to the creek Wednesday after a rail worker called about something he saw in the water.

You can see footsteps where Bryan went into the water to search the car, while Gerald called for help.

The fire department arrived and confirmed it was the car and Looper inside, and a police chaplain was sent to notify the family.

It wasn't the outcome anyone wanted, but at least, for the family, the search was over.

"That's my mom, my daughter, any type of family member, you're going to look," Gerald said.

The volunteers in the group aren't looking for recognition.

They simply want to put boots on the ground, with a plan, to help families find a missing loved one.

In this case, and now in seven others, they've found a missing person where no one else was looking.
