It has been one year since a horse was found nearly dead, entangled in barbed wire fencing, in northeast Oklahoma City.

The horse, later named Rudy, has since found a new home at Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue in Jones, Oklahoma, has recovered from his extensive injuries and has a new friend named Double D, who was recovering from cancerous tumors.

With the new year, Natalee Cross of Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue said they expect to have more horses like Rudy come to them with medical issues.

A donor has already donated $14,000 to rescue current horses, but the organization hopes Oklahomans will remember that any donations will help other horses like Rudy and Double D.
