A Tulsa jogger is in critical condition after police say he ran into traffic while using the Creek Turnpike trail Saturday. The man's name has not been released.
Witnesses told officers they saw the runner wait at the intersection of the eastbound trail where it crosses Memorial Drive. The man suddenly stepped into southbound traffic despite still having a red light, records show.
"The victim stepped into the lane of traffic directly behind a large truck," an officer said. "He was struck by a trailer which he had apparently not seen attached to the rear of the truck."
An ambulance took the man to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition with head and leg injuries.
Police say he's in his 30s or 40s, but they are withholding his name pending notification of his family.
