Everyone seems to want hoverboards, unfortunately, that includes thieves, too.

After Christmas, two teens were playing with their gifts. They said they were warned they could be targets, but never imagined someone would pull a gun over their toy.

The teenage victims could have lost more than their hoverboards during the robbery.

"They demanded that we hand over our hoverboards," they said.

About 10:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve, the two teens were in a neighborhood near North Harvard and East Pine, riding their hoverboards when, out of nowhere, a car swerved behind them.

"This car is following us. This car looks suspicious," the teens thought.

The boys said it followed them down several streets, then, two men got out - one with a gun peeking out of his sleeve.

"I was thinking, ‘I'm not going to get shot, so just give up the hoverboard,’" they said.

They made eye contact, hearts pounding, and handed over the $600 toys.

Tulsa Police said nothing else was taken, the men just drove off. But not before telling the teens to walk, not run, home and not to tell anyone.

The boys are frustrated for their parents, who worked to earn the money to buy the hoverboards.

They're also considering the fact that they could have been injured or killed.

"I didn't think of no one trying to rob kids over hoverboards," the teens said.

Detectives are investigating.
