If you watched the two top ranked teams, Oklahoma and Kansas, go head to head on Monday night then you know Sooner star Buddy Hield had a record-setting game that left lasting memories.

The standout guard finished with a career-high 46 points in the team’s 109-106 loss to the Jayhawks, the most scored against a top five team in 20 years and tied the most ever by an opponent in Lawrence.

The matchup marked the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 game to go into multiple overtimes since 1974 (NC State vs. UCLA in final four).

After the game, ESPN interviewed Hield courtside on-camera. When the interview wrapped KU fans gave Hield a standing ovation for his performance.

- Ryan Spangler finished the game with 14 points and 18 rebounds.

Notable Jayhawk Performances

- Perry Ellis scored 27 points and had 13 rebounds.

- Wayne Selden tallied 21 points.

- Devonte Graham finished with 20 points and hit the go-ahead free throw in the final OT to help Kansas push past Oklahoma.
