An upper-level wave should bring some wintry weather to Green Country today. Most of us have a chance to see a few flurries. Some folks in the far northeastern corner of the state might even see some light snowfall.

This will just be a glancing blow for us as the parent system is spinning over the Great Lakes. This is the first of three systems this week and the weakest of all three. A cold front moving through has opened the door to colder air.

Temperatures will be at least 10 degrees below normal for both today and tomorrow.

System #2: On Tuesday, we’ll see clouds increasing by morning ahead of an approaching wave and cold front. By late Tuesday rain afternoon, showers should develop across eastern Oklahoma. Showers should continue into the early morning hours of Wednesday but as colder air filters in, some of those showers could transition into a wintry mix.

The best chances of a wintry mix will be north of the Tulsa metro. Colder air usually arrives ahead of schedule and depending on how early it arrives, folks north of Tulsa could see enough wintry mix to make for a few slick spots on elevated surfaces. It is just something to watch for.

System #3: Late Thursday afternoon/evening we’ll see showers develop and they could transition into a wintry mix by early Friday morning. Sound familiar? It’s a lot like Tuesday’s system. Something different, though, is the fact that a strong surface low could develop and move through Oklahoma. The amount of rainfall we receive will be dependent on the track of the surface low and how much moisture is available.

If this surface low is strong enough, we could see wrap-around moisture through Friday morning which would be in the form of snow.

We aren't talking about any big snowstorms in the 7-day forecast but there are several chances for precipitation. Keep those warm raincoats within reach!
