A teenage driver pleaded guilty in a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcycle rider in Tulsa last summer.

Nely Aguilar-Patzan, 19, pleaded guilty to causing a fatality accident while driving without a license, leaving the scene of a fatality collision, driving without a license, failure to carry insurance and failure to yield, according to court records.

A judge sentenced her to two five years in prison on the two most serious charges, with both sentences to run concurrently.

Aguilar-Patzan was driving on 31st Street near Garnett on the night of June 8, 2015, when she turned left in front of a motorcycle ridden by Kenneth Jorgenson, 42, of Sapulpa.

Jorgenson ran into the driver's side of her car. He died shortly after the crash.

Police said Aguilar-Patzan ran away after the crash but officers found her about a block away and took her back to the scene. According to a probable cause affidavit, she then tried to run away again. Police said they had to put her in handcuffs and that she told them she ran because she was scared.

Judge Doug Drummond set a review of the case for January 17, 2017.
