Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump and his new campaign companion, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin tried to rally votes in Tulsa, Wednesday.

The pair spoke to a packed house at ORU's Mabee Center where there weren’t enough seats for everyone who showed up for Trump’s first campaign stop in Tulsa.

The Republican presidential candidate and frontrunner came out with guns blazing.

“There is an assault on Christianity and an assault on guns. There is an assault on everything that we stand for and we are gonna stop the assault,” he said.

Trump and Palin, his new campaign partner, hit all the hot topics - education, affordable healthcare, the military and war on terror.

“I can talk personally about this, I guess it is kinda the elephant in the room because my own family is going through,” Palin said.

Her son, Track, was arrested Monday night on charges of interfering with a report of domestic violence and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

“My son, like so many others, come back a bit different - they come back hardened,” she said. “You here in Oklahoma, especially you, love your freedom, and when you love your freedom you thank a vet.”

When Trump took the stage he didn't waste any time taking shots at his Democratic rivals.

“Does anybody want to hear mind paying 90 percent in taxes because that's what Bernie wants to do,” he said. “You notice how positive she is about the president, you know why right? You know why? Because she wants to stay out of the clink that's why, OK, believe me, that's why.”

Trump doesn't back away from his detractors who say he is running a campaign of fear and anger.

“We have a movement going on folks, we have a movement. This is not, this is not a normal situation, people are sick and tired and fed up, and yes we are angry, we are angry,” he said.

The Mabee Center holds about 7,000 people, and we know the event organizer handed out at least 9,000 tickets.

According to Trump, some 7,000 were turned away, so he said he would soon make a return visit to Tulsa.
