The Oral Roberts men's basketball team got a career night from freshman Javan White, but 14 offensive rebounds pushed South Dakota State past the Golden Eagles 86-74 Thursday night at the Mabee Center.

The preseason pick to win the Summit League, SDSU got 11 offensive rebounds on 16 missed shots in the second half to doom the Golden Eagles.

ORU was led by Obi Emegano, who scored 20 points for the 12th time this season. White posted the best game of his young career, going a perfect 7-7 from the field en route to a career high 16 points. White also had a career best seven rebounds and matched his season high in blocks with three, which he also did at LSU. Kris Martin added 17 points, including a 10-12 mark from the free throw line.

SDSU got 18 points from George Marshall and 15 from Mike Daum, who also led the Jackrabbits to a 36-26 rebounding advantage with seven boards.

Turning Point
ORU cut the deficit to nine and got a turnover but could not connect on the shot and SDSU responded with a 3-point play from Keaton Moffitt to make it 66-54 with 8:26 to play.

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Emegano led the scoring with 20 points, while White led in rebounds (seven) and blocks (three).
South Dakota State: Marshall had 18 points while Daum grabbed seven rebounds. Deondre Parks dished out four assits.

Inside the Box Score
- ORU finished the game 48.1 percent from the field (25-52) for the game, but shot 56.7 percent (17-30) in the second half.

- SDSU shot 51 percent for the game (34-66) and 58 percent (21-36) in the second half, scoring 53 points after halftime.

- The minus-10 rebounding deficit was the largest since getting out-rebounded by 15 to start Summit League Play.

News and Notes
- It took until the second half, but Emegano's first 3-point attempt of the frame fell and kept ORU's streak alive at 109 straight games with a made trey. ORU was 0-7 from 3-point range in the first half.

- The Golden Eagles were 18-23 from the free throw line while SDSU was 11-13. ORU is now 10-2 this year when getting to the free throw line more than their opponent.

- ORU never strung more than six points together in a row. Only once this year (at Missouri State) has ORU's longest run been less than six.

- White set new career highs in points (16), rebounds (7), field goals (7) and matched his career mark in blocks (3).

Up Next
ORU remains at home for the next two games, including a Saturday contest against Omaha. During halftime of the game, the Golden Eagles will honor new Hall of Fame members Keith Mucha (Baseball), Ken Tutt (Men's Basketball) and Rachel Talbert-Andres (Women's Track and Field).
