Passing Train Slows Tulsa Police Chase

Police are looking for the driver of a pickup who led officers on a chase across north Tulsa early Friday.  

Officers said police attempted to stop a maroon colored pickup in the 500 block of North Sheridan for an expired tag just after midnight when the driver sped off.  

Officers said an attempt to use stop strips failed and a passing train at the crossing at Dalton and Lewis also hampered their efforts to stop the pickup.  

The chase eventually ended in the 900 block of North Winston when the driver stopped, got out and ran away.  Officers searched the neighborhood but failed to turn up the suspect.
