Tulsa Police used their helicopter to follow a driver who led them on a slow-speed chase on Interstate 244 Wednesday night.

Officers said they attempted to stop Victor Alvarado, 42, at about 11:30 p.m. after a check of the car's tag showed it was stolen. Police say they originally tried to pull him over on East 11th Street near Highway 169, but he kept going onto I-244.

Police backed off and let the helicopter follow Alvarado. They said Alvarado used his turn signals and drove under the speed limit during the chase. They said Alvarado eventually stopped in the 2500 block of East 8th Street and police arrested him.

They booked Alvarado into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and having no driver's license. Jail records show he has a court appearance set for February 12.
