Social Media Helps Catch Stolen Truck Suspects, Police Say

Posted: Updated:

Social media led to a new clue for detectives working truck theft cases in Tulsa and Jenks.

Tulsa police found a stolen pickup on Thursday night and arrested three people. And now, through Facebook, that crime has been connected to another stolen truck in Jenks.

The victims in the case connected online and have helped police match up the information.

When the truck rolled into view of a security camera, it was the beginning of one crime, and the possible resolution of another.

The people in the truck found an opportunity near 75th and Sheridan. After driving past and then backing up, a man jumped out and stole a white Chevrolet pickup.

The whole thing happened in less than a minute, and the Chevy was out of sight.

But Tulsa police now believe these three suspects are behind the truck theft.

They arrested Michael Everett, Jessica Ewing and Kevin Cousins, and reported finding meth in the truck.

The Chevy was recovered intact, but the owner reported items missing from inside.

But surveillance footage showed another truck a Ford that was stolen last week.

The owner of that truck spotted it online and called police in Jenks. They're now working with Tulsa on a joint investigation.

The Chevy was stolen near 71st and Sheridan on Thursday morning, then they found that night on 129th East Avenue near U.S. Highway 412.

That's where the suspects were arrested.

The Ford was taken a week ago in Jenks, and there was a sighting of it in Verdigris over the weekend so police have a lookout for it in Rogers County.

Otherwise, it's been missing except for showing up as the getaway vehicle in a video.

Police in Tulsa and Jenks are comparing notes.

Meanwhile, police are looking for the Ford, an F-250 King Ranch, with unusual chrome door handles, possibly in the Verdigris area.
