For the second year in a row, the NFL has partnered with the organization "No More" to shine a light on domestic violence.

A new, 30-second commercial aired during Sunday night's Super Bowl.  We learned that domestic violence reports tend to go up around the time of the big game.

This is the second time the NFL has used the Super Bowl to get the word out about domestic violence. Last year's commercial featured a woman's voice on the phone with 911 pretending to order a pizza.

After a while, the dispatcher realizes she's in trouble and sends help.

Following the commercial, calls to the national abuse hotline doubled. Some argue an increase in alcohol consumption on Super Bowl weekend may be the reason for the increased cases. However, the statistics can change from one agency to the next.

"Many people definitively stating that is so that domestic violence goes up on Super Bowl weekend. But studies show different things the national hotline their calls go down some shelters report their calls goes up. So it's really tough to pin it down what we like to say in that respect there's never a wrong time to talk about domestic violence," said Donna Matthew with Domestic Violence Intervention Services.

Oklahoma currently ranks sixth in the nation for the number of women murdered by an intimate partner.
