Alan Crone's Weather Blog: Tracking A Few Cold Fronts

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A few cold fronts will move across the state during the next 5 to 7 days.   The first will arrive late Wednesday night into Thursday morning and the second arriving late Friday night into Saturday morning.   A fast moving upper level system and associated front will near the area Sunday night into Monday morning bringing a slight chance for some showers or a rumble of thunder.

But No major storm systems will be near the area for the next few days leading to a rather uneventful weather-week across the state.   The fire danger will continue to be elevated today.

Temperatures will start in the 20s and lower 30s this morning with mostly clear sky.   A few clouds may arrive on occasion across eastern OK due to the northwest to southeast flow across the region.    High temperatures this afternoon should be around 50 for most locations.  Northerly or northwesterly surface winds will continue today in the 10 to 25 mph range but will respond form the southwest and west Wednesday around a surface ridge of high pressure that will be located to the east of our immediate locations.   Wind speeds will become less than 10 mph Wednesday.   Wednesday highs should now move into the mid-60s with some sunshine.

Thursday a minor cool down will occur with highs nearing 50 by the middle of the afternoon.   We’ll rebound Friday after morning lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s highs will move back to near 60.    A second surge of colder air will arrive this weekend.   Morning lows in the 20s will be followed by highs in the 40s Saturday.   A slight chance of precipitation will remain for Sunday evening into early Monday, but the chances will remain low.

Thanks for reading the Tuesday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
