Police arrested the driver of a an SUV on a driving under the influence complaint after he went off the Broken Arrow Expressway at Highway 169 late Tuesday ending up in a creek.

Officers said David Esquivel's 2012 Chevy Equinox was severely damaged and will require two tow trucks to remove it Wednesday from the creek because of where it is located.

The 25-year-old Van Buren, Arkansas resident told police he had too much alcohol to drink at a concert at Cain's Ballroom and was heading home when he crashed.

A female passenger in the SUV was taken to a Tulsa hospital by EMSA for what police said were minor injuries.

Esquivel was booked into the Tulsa County jail.  Jail records show he has a court appearance set for February 18.
