Fire Destroys Claremore Home Near RSU Campus

A fire early Saturday destroyed a Claremore home near the Rogers State University campus.  

Firefighters got the call to the 1700 block of Camden just after 1 a.m.  They said when they arrived flames were seen coming from the second floor of the home.  Witnesses told News On 6 they could see the fire from a mile away.

Fire Battalion Chief Marty Osborne says because a fire hydrant was so far away, they had trouble initially knocking the fire down. 

He says it will be days before they know what started the fire, because the home is structurally unsafe for investigators to get inside.

Osborne says there were no reports of any injuries.
