OU missed a golden opportunity to snap Kansas' 11 straight seasons of winning a Big 12 championship, or, at least, take a little lead over Kansas.

In the end, it was poise and confidence that Kansas displayed. Oklahoma did not.

Kansas held Oklahoma to 28 percent shooting in the first half and 33 percent for the game.

Lon Kruger knows that winning at home is critical to winning a conference championship.

"We don't like to lose anywhere, but certainly you need to protect your home court,” said Kruger. “We have to find one somewhere else now as a result of this. So yeah, when you lose at home this late it's tough to get it back."

Buddy Hield was held to only 5-of-15 shooting. But it was the lack of inside punch that really hurt Oklahoma. The postmen that played down low were only 2-of-7 shooting with nine points.

Talking with Bill Self after the game, he says OU is going to be a tough out.

"OU is going to finish strong,” said Self. “They're loaded, and they are too good and they care too much not to. So we know that we put ourselves in a decent position. But [there’s] a lot of ball left."
