Firefighters in Okmulgee County say they finally have contained the two separate wildfires that burned more than 20,000 acres around Dripping Springs Lake.

The fires began Thursday afternoon.

Okmulgee County Emergency Management says eight homes and six out-buildings were destroyed on Thursday, and more were threatened on Friday night.

"The efforts of both Oklahoma Forestry Services, Bureau of Indian Affairs, local fire departments, and assisting agencies were able to stave off the threat to any other structures including a large hog operation," said Drew Daily of Oklahoma Forestry Services.

Crews are now working to make sure the hot spots don't flare up.
