Polls Open For Super Tuesday Voting In Oklahoma

Tuesday is election day in Oklahoma. Voters could end up waiting in long lines Tuesday as election board workers across the state prepare for a potentially record turnout.  

Oklahoma is one of eleven states taking part in Super Tuesday.

Polling places opened at 7 a.m.

Republicans, Democrats and Independents are voting Tuesday. If you are registered as a Republican or Democrat, you can only vote for your party's candidates. Independents can only vote for Democrats.

2016 Presidential Election

The last time we had an open seat in the White House was 2008, and the Tulsa County Election Board says almost 130,000 voters or about 40 percent of registered voters, cast their ballots.

Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Patty Bryant says over the lunch hour and between 5 and 7 p.m. are typically the peak times for voting.

The polls in Oklahoma close at 7 p.m.
