Man Arrested For Assault Nearly Triggered Amber Alert, Police Say

Posted: Updated:
BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

Broken Arrow police arrested a man they say nearly triggered an Amber Alert.

Officers say Mohammed Hussani-Ibrahim assaulted his ex-girlfriend at her apartment. The woman ran to get help and left behind her 11-month-old daughter, so Ibrahim took the child, police said.

Police say Hussani-Ibrahim does not have custody of the girl and only returned her after learning an Amber Alert would be issued.

They arrested him for domestic assault and battery, kidnapping and burglary.
