The Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a man wanted for murder in the Oklahoma City area. They say he may also be a gang member.

They said the suspect, Bryan Cleary, kept them in a standoff for about an hour before he surrendered.

April Tyner was on her way home when she saw the commotion on Elm and C Streets.

"The guy came out with his hands in the air, and then a female came out," she said.

Police with the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force said he's the last of three suspects wanted for a January gang-related murder in Oklahoma City.

He holed up in a Skiatook home for at least several weeks, until the task force tracked him down and surrounded the house.

Tyner said, "Was relieved that he just came out, instead of fighting more. An hour was too long, but it's better than having a shootout in the middle of our town."

She’s not the only one relieved with the outcome. Tommy Roberts with the U.S. Marshal's Office said it was the best case scenario.

"We were worried about him being armed,” Roberts said. “I would say anyone accused of a murder is potentially dangerous, but he does have ties to gang-related activity in the past, so we were considering him extremely dangerous."

Authorities said Cleary has ties to the Irish Mob gang - a white supremacist group that started in west Tulsa in the 90s.

His rap sheet shows several charges of making and possessing drugs in Tulsa and Rogers Counties.

Tyner said, "It was scary. Got kids around here, got a school right down the road, two schools; never had this kind of thing going on in town."
