TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police said the suspect in a fatal home invasion has died.

The call came in shortly after 4:30 a.m. at the Villas On Yorktown Apartments near Interstate 44 and Lewis Wednesday morning.

Police said Austin Edmondson, 20, was asleep when a man broke into his apartment through the front door. Officers said Edmondson and the suspect fired multiple shots at each other.

Edmondson was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Wednesday afternoon police identified the suspect as Dalvin Miller, 21. They say he died at the hospital at 3 p.m.

A woman who was inside the apartment was not hurt.

"The nature of the incident or the reason for the confrontation is unknown at this time," police said in a release.
