Administrators Take Advantage Of TPS Buyout Offers

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Public Schools says 12 upper level administrators have taken buyout offers, and more could take them by the deadline two weeks from now.

The district said the goal is to trim payroll without impacting teachers.

The offer for administrators is full pay through June, if they'll leave now.

"Those individuals who took the early incentive to leave the district to get that stipend, we're not planning on replacing those positions," said Dr. Lana Turner-Addison, with the Tulsa Public Schools Board.

The district is also asking people to take a survey to guide decisions during what's now predicted to be a $20 million cut in state funding next year.
