Polls are open until 7 p.m. as voters who live in Tulsa County pick a new sheriff and decide the fate of the Vision sales tax.

Democrat Rex Berry or Republican Vic Regalado will be on the ballot to replace former Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz.

The ballot will include a Vision proposition that would fund capital improvements across Tulsa County.

Voters in the city of Tulsa will also see three other Vision propositions. Proposition 1 would fund more police officers, firefighters and 911 personnel. Proposition 2 would pay for street maintenance and public transportation. Proposition 3 would pay for economic development.

Supporters of the new Vision plan began their campaign back in February.

They point to the previous plan, Vision 2025, as evidence that using sales tax money for public projects can pay off for the city.

A group called Citizens For A Better Vision opposes the new Vision plan. They want it scrapped and replaced by a different plan on the ballot in the fall.

Some north Tulsans joined the group, saying the plan doesn't reflect what they want.

The group is focused on money for the river, which they believe could be better spent on projects to bring business to north Tulsa.

Elsewhere, voters in Bixby will decide an OG&E franchise, Collinsville will be voting on a Vision sales Tax, Glenpool will decide on three Vision propositions that would pay for public works, police and fire equipment as well as police and fire personnel.

Jenks voters will be casting ballots on a Vision plan that includes several public works projects and Owasso voters will decide on a Vision Tax that would pay for road improvements.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and News On 6 will have the results as soon as they're available.
