Latest Flu Death Reported in LeFlore County

Posted: Updated:

Eight people have died in Oklahoma since reporting for the current flu season began in October of last year, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

The latest death and the first since early March was in LeFlore County.

The other seven deaths have been in Delaware, Harper, Oklahoma, Rogers and Tulsa counties.

The number of flu-related hospitalizations so far this season is 386.

State health officials say compared the 2014-2015 flu season in which over 100 people died, the current flu season has been rather mild.
