Residents near Perry and Luther felt a jolt Thursday.

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 4:06 p.m. Its epicenter was located 16 miles west, southwest of Perry, 21 miles southeast of Enid, and 23 miles north, northwest of Guthrie. It was about two and a half miles deep.

Just before 5:30 p.m., a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck just a mile northeast of Luther. Residents immediately responded to News 9's Facebook and Twitter pages with comments they felt the shake after News 9 Meteorologist Matt Mahler posted about feeling the earthquake.

At this time, there are no reports of injuries or damages associated with either earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
