Tulsa Street Blocked For Downed Pole On Power Lines

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police have closed 49th West Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets due to a downed pole that's fallen on power lines Monday morning.

Authorities believe someone struck the pole then left the scene overnight.

When police were notified of the damage around 5:15 a.m., cars were still going by it, but officers decided to shut down the street for safety.

It will likely take several hours to replace the pole. It's an AT&T communications pole, and that company has been called out. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.
