Oklahoma Native Witnesses Wild Texas Hail Storm

A Tulsa native survived Monday's wild hail storm in a Dallas suburb and has the photos to prove it.

Jessica Thomas works for a plumbing and HVAC company in Wylie and was on the job when the storm rolled into the area. 

She said she started hearing a lot of noise in the break room and when she checked it out she discovered it was the hail shattering the windows.

"The hail came through the roof and water was pouring in all the offices. I found some hail inside an office and it doesn't have windows," she said.

The hail damaged every one of the company's work trucks, Jessica said, and even damaged the chain link fence outside.

"It was very scary. Almost tornado-like with high-speed winds," she said.

Jessica, who decided to move to Texas after graduating college because she has a lot of family there, had parked her car indoors and it was not damaged.

She said the hail was so thick it was six to eight inches deep in places.

Jessica shot a few seconds of video of the hail smashing one of the windows and would have shot more but she and her co-workers were too busy taking shelter under the stairs.
