East side dominance in Oklahoma isn't just reserved for football in class 6A.

Green Country is home to 18 of the last 20 state champions in baseball in that class; and once again, two of 6A's top teams get ready to battle for bragging rights.

It's the St. John Battle of the Bats; and for the fourth straight year, Owasso and Broken Arrow will square off in a game that won't decide a title, but will feature plenty of intensity.

The Rams are the defending 6A state champs, but the Tigers won last year's Battle of the Bats. On Friday, at 7:00 in Owasso, the Rams will be looking for a little revenge.

"I kinda just tell them the same thing, like, you know guys, this isn't a district game, we don't have to win it, but we don't want to lose. We want to come out and represent Owasso, playing some good competition. This is the type we're going to get in the postseason, so why not go out and play our best and see what we can do," Owasso senior Dodge Turner said.

Broken Arrow senior, Devon Johnson said, "Well, we've won it the last two years, so I want to keep it consistent. If we can keep it consistent then that means we keep winning it. That's what kind of legacy I want to have. I want to be known as the team that kept that winning streak alive."

The two schools have combined to win three of the last five state championships at Oklahoma's highest level.
