The Joplin garage apartment where Bonnie and Clyde shot it out with law enforcement in 1933 is up for sale.

The former motel in the 3300 block of Oak Ridge Drive is on the National Register of Historic Places.  For 13 days it served as a base of operation for the Barrow gang and on April 13, 1933, the Joplin Police Department raided the motel.  Two officers died in the resulting shootout.

KOAM, the CBS affiliate in Joplin, Missouri says the current owner, Phillip McClendon, is selling it.

McClendon is hoping someone will turn the home into something that recognizes its rich history and connection to Bonnie and Clyde.

The asking price is $165,000.
