One suspect is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase around parts of northwest and southwest Oklahoma City, Thursday evening.
The suspect, was driving in a black 4-door Toyota vehicle and centered around downtown, Midtown and the state fair park areas before turning south of the Oklahoma River.
The suspect wound around neighborhood streets, often on the wrong side of the road, before he ditched the vehicle around SW 22nd St. and S. Blackwelder Ave. The man then climbed over fences into backyards in a vain attempt to elude the officers. Eventually he gave himself up.
Police told News 9 they tried to stop the suspect for a felony warrant, out of McClain County, when he took off. After the chase had ended, officers located bullets inside the vehicle and believe the suspect may have tossed a firearm while he was on foot. On top of all of that, police say he was also drunk.
Police identified the suspect in the high speed chase as 36-year-old Cory Watson. Watson will face felony attempting to elude, DUI and other traffic charges after Thursday afternoon's police pursuit, authorities told News 9.
