A Broken Arrow road is shut down until repairs can be made to a broken sewer line.

According to the City, New Orleans, or 101st Street, will be closed between South 18th Street to South 23rd Street.

In a release, the city said the break was discovered near County Line Road and New Orleans around 10:00 Thursday morning.

The City Council will meet for an emergency meeting at 5 p.m. Friday to discuss the activation of the City’s emergency operation protocols.

The release says that includes, “waiving state and local provisions pertaining to competitive bidding as allowed by law, authorizing an informal bidding process, authorizing the city manager to execute emergency contracts as necessary for repairs and any subsequent critical events.”

No time was given for when the repairs would be made or the road re-opened.
