Police: Woman Shot In Chest At Tulsa Apartment Complex

A woman is in the hospital after being shot in the chest late Thursday at a Tulsa apartment complex.

Officers were called to the Stonegate Apartments in the 7200 block of South 87th East Avenue next to Woodland Hills Mall at 11:30 p.m on a report of shots fired.  

Police say a friend rushed the woman to the hospital. Neighbors who heard the shots ran to safety.

It's still unclear what happened, because police say they've gotten multiple stories from witnesses.

One thing police are not happy about. Witnesses collected the shell casings, the evidence from the crime scene, and bagged it up.

Officers say the victim is expected to survive. They have not released her identity but say she is 31 years old.
