An active weather pattern is setting up for next week.

Several systems are lined up that could bring severe weather to Green Country. The first system coming in Sunday afternoon will develop storms along a cool front across Kansas. A few storms along the southern edge of the front and near a dry line will develop as far south as central Oklahoma during the late afternoon.

Storms should move to the northeast. Counties with the highest chance of seeing severe storms Sunday evening will be just northwest of Tulsa.
Moisture will continue to usher in ahead of system number two.

This second system looks like the stronger one. There is a chance storms will break out across eastern Oklahoma Monday afternoon but as the upper level system nears Oklahoma, chances will increase for Tuesday.

Tuesday is the day with the highest threat for next week. Hail, wind and tornadoes will be possible with these storms throughout the week. We will probably still be dealing with a few ongoing showers Wednesday morning.

A stalled out cool front will push into southeastern Oklahoma by Wednesday afternoon and that will shift the focus of severe storms southeast of Tulsa.
Thursday is shaping up to be the nicest day of next week as we are in between system number two and system number three.

This third system looks to come in for the early portion of next weekend with another chance for spring-like storms. Keep in mind that a lot could change with the forecast as these two systems are over the ocean and until they make landfall, forecast models have a harder time getting a good sampling of data from these two systems.

The important thing is to stay weather aware and have your family’s severe weather safety plan in check before it’s too late.
