The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a semi driver lost consciousness just prior to hitting an AT&T Ford van on a downtown Tulsa highway Tuesday morning.

Troopers said the semi cab, driven by Martin Leonard Kennedy, 56, of Columbus, Georgia was westbound on I-244 at the Arkansas River bridge when his truck struck the van also headed west.  The semi came to a stop about a mile away.  EMSA took Kennedy to a Tulsa hospital where he was pronounced dead.
