Officials cut the ribbon on three new businesses in downtown Broken Arrow’s Rose District on Thursday morning.

American Hatfield, Simplicity and Hillary's Boutique now are open.

It is the latest round of new stores opening after redevelopment of the district started in 2011.

"You won't find chain stores down here in the Rose District,” Wes Smithwick of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce said. “And so, they're all designed to be unique, uh, the owners are local people bringing what they know, and what they love, and a lot of passion to what they sell."

There also are residential and professional office spaces coming to the Rose District.
“The planning for the Rose District redevelopment started in 2011, with visible changes taking place in 2014 with the completion of the Street Scape. Since that time the popular arts and entertainment districts store fronts have largely been full,” a news release said.
