The wife of a Pittsburg County police chief pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drug charge after a felony count against her was dropped this week.

Heather Brillo, 36, the wife of Hartshorne Police Chief Josh Brillo, 37, had been charged with maintaining a place for controlled dangerous substances. Court records show Heather entered the plea to a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana and was given a two-year deferred sentence.

The District 18 Drug Task Force arrested the Brillos in January after members of the task force said they found a small amount of marijuana at the couple's home.

On April 8, 2016, a special prosecutor dismissed the case against Josh.
