Three people were hospitalized after a beaver caused a collision on a county road late Saturday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.

The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. on Prue Road, east of Mud Creek in Osage County.

According to a trooper’s report, a motorcycle struck a beaver, then went on its side and the driver and passenger were separated from the bike before it skidded 441 feet and came to rest.

The driver of a second motorcycle struck some of the debris, causing it to go on its side and strike the ground, the report says. The driver reportedly was separated from the motorcycle and it continued on 249 feet.

According to the report, Nicholas Tucker, 24, of Oakhurst, and Jessica Holloway, 31, of Oakhurst, were admitted to a Tulsa hospital. Tucker was stable with trunk internal, trunk external, arm and head injuries, OHP said. Holloway was released after being treated for trunk external, arm and leg injuries, the report says.

The driver of the second motorcycle, Brank Deible, 36, of Tulsa, was treated and released for trunk external, arm and leg injuries, OHP said.

The investigating trooper said Tucker’s speed contributed to the crash, but the condition of both drivers was apparently normal.

None of the three were wearing helmets, the report says.
