Several rounds of rain and storms are going to impact Green Country over the coming week. The heaviest rainfall will occur within the next 48 hours and that could amount to over 2” of rain in some locations. Latest data shows the higher amounts occurring over counties north of Tulsa.

It looks like everyone has a good chance of seeing some amount of water in their rain gauge by next weekend.

This afternoon, a few folks could see a passing shower but the higher rain chances are tonight. Showers should move in from the southwest late this evening and overnight. Widespread rain, heavy at times, will be likely with some rumbles of thunder.

The heaviest rain should be east of Tulsa by sunrise but lingering showers will be possible.

We are watching the potential for storms on Monday afternoon but the higher chances will be across western Oklahoma. A few isolated storms could become severe on our side of the state. The main threat will be large hail but the tornado potential will have to be watched closely.

We will repeat the process for Tuesday with heavy rain overnight into the morning hours and then a chance for storms in the afternoon. Rain chances will still exist through the end of our work week.

We have dreary and wet days ahead, so dust off the rain jacket and the umbrella.
